This 7442-net-ft2 office building clearly demonstrates how sustainable, high performing products and systems, such as precast concrete, can contribute to being energy and resource efficient and improve indoor air quality. The project demonstrates that precast concrete can greatly contribute to building sustainable structures with stylish aesthetics while maintaining environmentally sensitive attributes.
Thermal efficiency was greatly increased by the precast concrete R-26 wall systems. The precast concrete also reduced the cement content by 40% replacing the cement with fly ash. Precast concrete components for the building contained 42% postconsumer content and 25% preconsumer content. The project overall contained 21.5% combined recycled content for all building materials. It received LEED-NC gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
