PCI Design Awards Program Overview

Now in its 52 year, the PCI Design Awards program recognizes design excellence and construction quality using precast concrete.

The program has helped the design and construction community innovate and advance by showcasing ideas that push the envelope, overcome challenges, and improve upon existing concepts. The program demonstrates how designers are continuing to utilize precast/prestressed concrete components to achieve sustainable, more cost-effective, aesthetically-pleasing, and quickly-constructed projects. Included among the winning building entries are commercial buildings, a retail/mixed use project, parking structures, sports facilities, public/institutional buildings, higher education developments, healthcare buildings, multi-family homes, hotels, and retirement facilities.

Any structure in the United States, Canada, or Mexico completed in the past three years (based on the time of judging) that is substantially constructed using precast concrete manufactured in a PCI-Certified of CPCI-Certified plant was eligible for the program. The entries are judged by independent juries of industry experts who consider creativity and ingenuity in the use of precast concrete to achieve aesthetic expression, function, economy, and sustainability; and recognized excellence in design, engineering, manufacturing, and erecting. Separate juries evaluate buildings, transportation, and special awards.
